The Architecture of Formation
A four-hour workshop on Being, Belonging, and Becoming
What sustains transformation—and helps it take root in our lives, communities, and places?
Poets & Prophets invites you to explore the architecture beneath the practice: the relationships, rhythms, stories, and conditions that shape who we are becoming and how we participate in the world.
At the heart of this workshop is the Formational Set, a relational and developmental framework centered on the dynamic movement of Being, Belonging, and Becoming. Its central proposition is that durable transformation begins with shifts in identity, relationship, perception, and participation. As these deepen together, new ways of living and acting become possible.
Through guided reflection, embodied practice, shared inquiry, and small-group conversation, we will explore:
- Being: What grounds my life, and how is my sense of self being formed?
- Belonging: Which relationships and communities nurture our capacity to grow?
- Becoming: What is emerging, and how are we called to participate?
- Generativity: How might what is formed in us contribute to the flourishing of Soul, Earth, and the Common Good?
Together, we will trace the movement from The Summons, an invitation to undertake the journey, into Poets & Prophets, a community of practice. We will explore The Way of Flourishing as a shared Rule of Life and consider how the particular ecology of a place—its people, stories, gifts, and conditions—helps formation take root and become generative beyond itself.
You will leave with a working map of the Architecture of Formation, the beginnings of a personal or communal Rule of Life, and a concrete next step for nurturing formation in your own context.
This workshop welcomes leaders, practitioners, community builders, and anyone asking how to live and lead with greater depth, wisdom, and care. No prior familiarity with the framework is needed. Bring your questions, your lived experience, and a willingness to practice and learn alongside others.
